The French professional racing driver was born in Pontoise, France on April 25th 1990 (33). Jean-Éric Serge Raymond Vergne, aslo known as JEV stepped into racing in 2007, joining the French Formula Renault Campus series which he won comfortably on his first try, taking ten podiums form thirteen races in the process. JEV became a member of the Red Bull Junior Team and the French Automobile Sport Federation (FFSA), at the end of the 2007 season.
In both series, he finished as the highest rookie driver, and in addition, he also won the French Formula Renault 2.0 Championship, which is awarded to the best French driver in the standings of the West European Cup
